A Resilient Future: Climate Risk and Real Estate Investment Decisions (June 25, 2019)
Land use and building design are important tools for enhancing resilience!
Last month, ULI Alberta was invited to participate in a conversation exploring The City of Calgary’s goals for Place-making in the Centre City including a review of each neighborhood to discover opportunities and strategies to achieve those goals. Information gathered from the workshops will also be an input into the refreshed Centre City Plan. In 2018, the Community Planning Department embarked on a project to update the 2007 Centre City Plan. The Centre City Plan is a coordinated document that pulls together the vision for the Centre City along with strategies and actions relating to land use planning, economic, cultural, social development, and governance. An update to the Centre City Plan is an opportunity to refocus Calgary’s energy and reinvigorate a commitment to success in the Centre City. Visit the City of Calgary’s engagement website to join the conversation, and view the placemaking brief linked here.
