    The ULI Alberta Calgary Housing Symposium brings together developers, policy leaders, economists, and innovators to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping Alberta’s housing future. From modular and mass timber construction to zoning reforms, financing, and cross-sector collaboration, this half-day symposium will highlight the strategies and innovations needed to build faster, smarter, and more sustainably.

    Keynote Speaker: Murtaza Haider  Professor |  Executive Chair, Cities and Communities at‬‭ Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta

    Murtaza Haider is a Professor and Radhe Krishna Gupta Executive Chair in Cities and Communities at the Alberta School of Business, as well as the Executive Director of the Cities Institute at the University of Alberta. Professor Haider’s research focuses on business analytics, housing markets, transportation, infrastructure, and human development in Canada and South Asia. He authored Getting Started with Data Science (2015). A syndicated columnist with Postmedia, his weekly columns on real estate appear in The National Post and regional newspapers. He holds a Master's in transportation engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. Kick off with welcome remarks and an economic outlook, setting the stage for housing and market dynamics in Alberta.
