Alberta’s cities have experienced increasing homelessness and housing insecurity in recent years. With changes to historic funding models and the role of the various levels of government, the affordable housing sector must deliver innovative solutions to meet these problems. The pandemic has increased the burden on affordable housing operators by the addition of operational stresses and other challenges. This session will provide an understanding of the pressing need for additional affordable housing units and explore the challenges and opportunities facing participants in the affordable housing sector.
