The healthYYC Initiative is an informal committee that was founded by the City of Calgary’s Urban Strategy department. HealthYYC is led by a co-chair from the City along with an external co-chair from the Urban Land Institute. It has an advisory board consisting of a mix of City administration staff and community members representing a range of partners committed to building healthy communities.
The purpose of the healthYYC Initiative is to connect, share and accelerate action towards positive health outcomes in building healthy communities for Calgary. The initiative is a partnership between the City of Calgary, Real Estate professionals (ULI), Industry partners (BILD, NAOIP), Alberta Health Services, Federation of Communities, University of Calgary, Health advocacy group (VIVO).
